چکیده
Synchrotron radiation imaging methodes have been proven to be highly suitable for investigations in materials research and non-destructive evaluation. The intense flux and partial spatial coherence available at modern synchrotron light sources allows one to work with high resolutions and different contrast modes. This articles gives an overview about different direct and indirect imaging methodes for industrial applications, recently available for commercial access via the German light source ANKA and its department ANKA commercial services (ANKA COS).

A Review of the Applications of Synchrotron Radiation in Archaeological Sciences
The scientific research regarding investigation, characterization and protection of the archeological specimens is manifested through a notable participation of multidisciplinary subjects and experts, scientists and archeometrists. One of the main principals which are considered by archaeometrists in the study of the precious specimens is the utilizing nondestructive methods. As an example, in ...
متن کاملOn the ANKA decision: a response to Braun's Just for us?
KIT's Executive Board has decided to discontinue the operation of the synchrotron radiation facility ANKA within category LK-II (user facility) of the Helmholtz Association and continue operation in LK-I (research). The KIT Senate confirmed this decision. Some aspects of the background and the rationale leading to this change are explained.
متن کاملJust for us?
It is a regrettable decision by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology that ANKA, the Angströmquelle Karlsruhe, is terminating its external synchrotron user support program. ANKA has an excellent performance review grading sheet and has been a valuable source and resource to international users for over a decade. There is concern among users that ANKA's decision could become an example for other syn...
متن کاملSynchrotron radiation micro X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy of thin structures in bone samples: comparison of confocal and color X-ray camera setups
In the quest for finding the ideal synchrotron-radiation-induced imaging method for the investigation of trace element distributions in human bone samples, experiments were performed using both a scanning confocal synchrotron radiation micro X-ray fluorescence (SR-µXRF) (FLUO beamline at ANKA) setup and a full-field color X-ray camera (BAMline at BESSY-II) setup. As zinc is a trace element of s...
متن کاملCHARACTERIZING THz COHERENT SYNCHROTRON RADIATION AT THE ANKA STORAGE RING∗†
In a synchrotron radiation source coherent infrared (IR) radiation is emitted when the bunch length is comparable to the wavelength of the emitted radiation. To generate coherent THz (far IR) radiation, the ANKA storage ring is operated regularly in a dedicated low-alpha optics. Different bunch lengths, corresponding to different spectral ranges of the THz spectrum and various electron beam ene...
